About

The story of Quincalux began in 1942, when Werner Desschans opened a small workshop in Kortrijk, Belgium, following his father Georges' blacksmith tradition. The company initially specialized in reception grilles for banks, which established their early success. In post-World War II Belgium, reconstruction created demand for everyday items like handrails, coat racks, and door handles. Under Carl Desschans' leadership in the 1960s, brass became the signature material, and the company expanded its distribution network across Belgium, eventually relocating to Wevelgem. The mid-1990s saw Carl's son Lorenzo join the business, introducing exports and designer collaborations while maintaining the company's craftsmanship heritage. In 2024, Martine Reynaers and Claire Juliard took over the family business, with Lorenzo continuing as production manager.

Today, this new generation leads Quincalux with a vision to expand internationally while offering well-designed, high-quality, and ecological products. Their goal is to establish Quincalux as the reference for architectural hardware in Belgium and beyond.
