Obumex, founded in 1960, has built a legacy of passion, creativity, and exceptional craftsmanship. What began as a family business under the vision of Eli Ostyn, originally producing school furniture, quickly evolved into a brand synonymous with bespoke luxury and innovative design. By the 1970s, Obumex had shifted its focus to creating minimalist, modern kitchens, earning national recognition when their fully customized kitchen designs took first place at the National Kitchen Show.
As the company grew, so did its expertise. Under the leadership of Eli’s son, Geert Ostyn, starting in 1984, Obumex expanded into interior design, introducing carefully curated furniture collections and a more comprehensive approach to luxury living spaces. Today, Obumex is known for its ability to harmonize custom-made furniture with high-end brands, offering complete interior design solutions that are both timeless and unique.
A defining moment in Obumex’s journey came in 1996 with the launch of its first signature kitchen, designed by world-renowned architect John Pawson.
